First things first.  We read in the bible, in the very first verse of inspired scripture,
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”  In these very first words
that God has given to us through the bible, we find, what many in the field consider
to be the building blocks of science. Herbert Spencer (1820-1903), a famous British
philosopher, declared that there are basically five fundamentals of science: time,
force, action, space, and matter. We have these five fundamentals present in Genesis
1:1:

In the beginning (time)  God (force)  Created (action)  the heavens (space)
and the Earth (matter)

Many “logical” minds today tell us that the creation account is nonsense however
and that
THIS came about by accident.  So let us see what science has come up
with to explain the existence of our universe, since they feel that creation is illogical.
Read on with an open mind and decide for yourself what constitutes “nonsense” and
what constitutes “logic.”
Some theorize that many years ago, two gigantic balls of gasses, ice, and rock
collided at fantastic speeds while on their paths through space and the result was an
explosion of unimaginable proportions.  This magnificent explosion sent debris and
gasses swirling through space and when the dust settled, there was a perfectly
ordered, perfectly designed universe, and as luck would have it, there was one planet
among the bunch that was favorable to human life….  Or there's the "inflationary"
model which would have us believe that the entire universe was crammed into a tiny
"singularity" which one day burst forth into space and "Voila!" instant universe.  It's
kinda like one of those inflatable life rafts, or those fake peanut cans that all the
snakes fly out of.  (possibly the universe's very first practical joke?)

This in a nutshell, is the big bang theory.  This is what scientists have come up with
for a more reasonable explanation for the existence of the universe as opposed to
Creation.
Bumper sticker slogans, no matter how catchy (i.e. “The Big Bang
Theory: God spoke and BANG! It happened!") will unfortunately not be enough
when speaking to an evolutionist. So let’s examine the “logic” of the big-bang theory
with three “What-if” situations:

1) What if you were stranded on a desert island, an island uninhabited and
uninhabitable by everything but sand.  While walking across this desert island, you
notice the sun glinting off of something on top of an otherwise barren dune.  As you
approach, you are amazed to find a Rolex watch!  “By Jove,”  you think to yourself,
“how extraordinary!  Over the millennia the sand and the elements of this remote
island have come together in just such a way that they formed this perfectly working
watch!”   Is that logical?  Of course it isn’t, desert island or not, upon coming
across a find like that, you would immediately realize that SOMEONE had dropped
that watch there, no matter how improbable it may seem.

2) What if you were walking through a remote forest in the Alaskan wilderness and
you came across a cabin…  “Wow,” you think to yourself, “I know what happened
here! Torrential downpours and flooding must have dug a trench for the foundation
while gravel and sediment filled in during a mud slide and was hardened by the sun
during a long drought… Through the ages somewhere there was a wind storm so
harsh that it knocked the limbs off of all the trees on this spot and as the gale
continued to build, the bare trunks began to fall and they just happened to fall in such
a way that they formed the walls of this cabin!  Then, of course there was a
hurricane that threw the mud and grasses on top to form the thatched roof.”  No
logical person would think such a thing.  They would realize as soon as they saw the
cabin that someone had been there before them and built the structure there.

3) What if you were standing on the streets of Detroit, Michigan, the Motor City.
You see a cargo plane flying overhead when suddenly the cargo doors fly open
sending a hail of car parts hurtling towards the streets!  You cover your head and
dive under a park bench to wait out the certain destruction to ensue.  When you open
your eyes, you find no destruction however, only a lot full of beautiful, mint
condition Mopars that weren’t there moments earlier!  Is this a logical scenario?
Judge for yourself.

There is as much chance of the Earth accidentally happening, as me stirring up a big
pot of alphabet soup and lo and behold, the text of this sentence just happens to float
to the top in perfect order!  As much as I wish that were the case, I realize it is
illogical so I instead spend much time at my keyboard and much time studying in
order to produce the articles I write and sermons I give.

Do you realize that if the Earth were just a few miles closer to the sun, the glaciers
would melt covering nearly all land with water and the climate on those lands left
would be too hot for human life to exist?  On the other hand, if the earth were but a
few miles further away from the sun in its orbit, most of the Earth’s water would
freeze and the fresh water supply would be far too low to support any large amount
of life and most life on earth would die from exposure if exposed to the elements for
just a few moments of time!

Is it coincidence, that the earth is positioned where it is and that it is perfectly suited
for human life?  That the duration of our days and nights, the exact tilt of the Earth’s
axis and the orbit of the earth, if changed only slightly, would make living conditions
on this planet unbearable and unfriendly to human life to say the least?  But I suppose
this all came by chance…

And what about life anyway?  The big bang certainly can’t explain this…  That’s
where the theory of evolution steps in.  A theory that the scientific world has
advanced, even though it is unproven and unprovable, and a theory that science itself
disproves.  Yet most all biology texts and scientific minds claim that it is fact and
that only the unlearned and simple would deny it.  Why is it that the bigger a lie is,
the more people there seem to be who are willing to believe it?

There are even some religious folks today who would like to reconcile the bible and
the big bang.  For those who are confused about this, here is how they tell it.  “I
believe that God is the creator but that he used the ‘big bang’ in order to bring about
the universe.”  I’m not sure why some religious people choose to view God as
getting bored one day and hurtling balls of gas through space at each other to see
what might happen, like some two-year old who smashes his toys just because.  I
suppose it can be argued that destruction is a form of creation, but I would submit to
you that all it ever creates for me is a mess, how about you?

My assumption is that the melding of the two is a product of fear by these religious
folks who think one day scientists may prove the big bang, so they try and put the
two together now… just in case.  It is illogical and shows a lack of faith, do not fall
prey to such compromises between man’s wisdom and God’s wisdom, for there is
no room for discussion. The Genesis account mentions nothing of the chaos and
disorder that the big bang theory emphasizes .  On the contrary, the Genesis account
shows a very orderly creation with everything fitting into place and put into place
with care.  What’s so wrong with that?

Meddling shoddy theories with religion seems to be the chosen way out for many.
The Catholic church for instance, has now had 2 popes who have made long winded
(and incredibly dry) discourses telling the members of the RCC that evolution should
be accepted.  This seems even more asinine when you realize that not even science
itself agrees with evolution!
